To be honest – I was really angry as I typed the complete post already – and it gone. So here comes a short one with the most important – the pics, sent out of my hammock on the campingsite in Nantes.
I’ve started my day visiting the Velo City of Nantes, a festival to support bikes in cities. It’s a pity I haven’t been here two days ago as there was a bike parcours with 7.000 people.
So I’ve visited the Compagnie des Machines with its famous elephant, Carrousel and Galerie.
Now I went to the ancient part of the city and visited the Cathedral, the Musée des ducs de Bretagne, the Jardin de plants and finally the former factory of biscuits ‘LU’ with a great variety of alternative acts and arts.
Tomorrow I’ll be on the road again to St.Brevin-les-pins next to the atlantic coast.
A really great day in a marvellous city with so many things to explore.
This morning I’ve allowed myself the comfort of sleeping a little bit longer and had an amazing breakfast with sunshine in my head. So I’ve started off to cycle just about 75 km (the last days were always around 90 km) and enjoyed the sun again. So my first stop was the abbey were you have to climb the hill of the city but than you’ve got an outstanding view. The surrounding of this cathedral was outstanding so I’ve had a look around. After cycling some kilometres I found another church in a small town…as I think (as an ‘agnostic’ person) a believers place hasn’t to be always great – it depends on the vibrations you can feel there… Than there was lunchtime and as most of the time – a wonderful place popped up… After entering the big city of Nantes a cool man on his bike accompanied me to the campingsite, which is situated 5 km outside of the town. But there you can find everything you need as a cyclist – washing machine, trees for the hammock, Wi-Fi and a great surrounding. So tomorrow is my first day off after around 500 km in 6 days and I’ll explore the interesting city of Nantes – looking forward to this. Veröffentlicht mit WordPress für Android
Now there are less than two weeks left to go…here we´ve got the first part of my trip in 2015 with 722 km.
The first days I´m going to cycle with a good friend from Paris (nearly) along the “Pilgrim´s route” EuroVelo 3
down to Orléans via Fontainebleu where we will visit the famous Chateau.
After having a stop in Montargis we´ll approach Orléans and Francis will go back by train.
Now I´m on the EuroVelo 6 along the river Loire – but first there will be the Château Chambord and Château Cheverny on the plan to visit.
Exploring the cities Tours and Saumur I´m going to see also the outstanding Château Chenonceau and Château Villandry – but after so many cultural sights I´d like to enjoy a little bit of city life in Nantes where there is the Festival “Velo City 2015 – Nantes” to be watched.
Finally I will reach the atlantic sea after 722 km in St. Brevin-les-pins where I´ve been already several times.
